Race #3 -- Tuesday, June 23, 2010 -- Union Bay (Seattle)

This event will be based to the East of the University of Washington main campus. There are two start areas separated by nearly a mile for the prologue and the chase stages of this race. Each start has a different pay parking lot adjacent to it. You can park in one place and walk or bike to the other start area to avoid paying two parking fees, if you wish. We recommend parking in E12 (see below) and biking to the second stage start.

The first stage starts at the Waterfront Activities Center, located on Lake Washington, just North of the Montlake Cut. The nearest parking lot is E21 (formerly called E12). The extensive light rail station construction blocks the former entrance near the Montlake Bridge, so you must now enter using one of the entrances farther North. Here is a map of UW parking areas that you can use to locate and determine directions to lot E21. Parking in E21 after 4 p.m. used to cost $4 (as of 2008), but now it is metered using pay stations, which sell time in 15-minute increments, so it is probably $3/hour until 9 p.m. The machines take coins and credit cards.

The second stage starts adjacent to parking area E5, which must be accessed from Clark Road to the North. See this map for details. The ticket dispenser at lot E5 used to take cash (small bills) and may still, or it may also have a pay station (we'll try to find out and post an update).
