Directions to race venues

Park address: 31020 Northeast 40th Street, Carnation, WA

From Seattle or Bellevue, follow SR-520 East to Redmond
Take SR-202 (Redmond-Fall City Road) East toward Fall City for 8.1 miles
Turn Left onto NE Tolt Hill Road, and go 3.2 miles
Turn Left onto Fall City-Carnation Road NE (SR-203) and go 0.5 miles
Turn Left onto NE 40th Street and go about 0.3 miles
Park in the parking lots on either the left or right side of the road, just before the small complex of buildings and the campground.

This venue will probably take longer for most people to get to, so be sure to allow enough travel time. We encourage carpooling, since the parking lots are not particularly large, however there are some overflow parking options.

This event will be based to the East of the University of Washington main campus. There are two start areas separated by nearly a mile for the prologue and the chase stages of this race. Each start has a different pay parking lot adjacent to it. You can park in one place and walk or bike to the other start area to avoid paying two parking fees, if you wish. We recommend parking in E12 (see below) and biking to the second stage start.

The first stage starts at the Waterfront Activities Center, located on Lake Washington, just North of the Montlake Cut. The nearest parking lot is E12, and here are directions. Parking in E12 after 4 p.m. costs $4 (for an hour or longer).

The second stage starts adjacent to parking area E5, which must be accessed from Clark Road to the North. See this map for details. The ticket dispenser at lot E5 takes cash, so bring small bills.

From Seattle, follow I-5 South
Take exit 151 (S. 200th St. / Military Rd.)
Continue West onto S. 200th St. (very soft left) at the end of the exit ramp
Go a bit more than 1 mile on S. 200th St., across International Blvd. (Hwy 99)
After going down a big hill, turn left at 18th Ave S., at the far side of the golf course
Follow the road for about 1/3 of a mile and park as directed in the meadow on the left

From I-405, go South to the junction with I-5, take I-5 South, and follow the directions above.

Turn right onto Sahalee Way NE (about 3 miles from the center of town or 2 miles from E Lake Sammamish Parkway NE).
Turn left onto SE 8th St (about 2 miles after Sahalee Way NE straightens and becomes 228th Ave NE).
SE 8th St will bend left and turn into 244th Ave SE (after about 0.8 miles).
Turn right onto E Main Dr (about 0.4 miles after bend).
Follow E Main Dr to its end (almost 1 mile).

From Issaquah, go North on E Lake Sammamish Parkway SE (exit 17 from I-90).
Turn Right onto SE 43rd Way (after about 2 miles from I-90).
SE 43rd Way bends right then left and becomes 228th Ave SE.
Turn right onto SE 8th St (about 2 miles after 43rd straightens into 228th).
SE 8th St will bend left and turn into 244th Ave SE (after about 0.8 miles).
Turn right onto E Main Dr (about 0.4 miles after bend).
Follow E Main Dr to its end (almost 1 mile).

The park entrance parking lot is just North of there.

From the Seattle or Bellevue areas, take SR-520 eastbound.
Exit at West Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE and go right (South).
After about 1/4 mile, turn left into the park on NE Marymoor Way.
After almost 0.4 miles, turn right.
Go about 0.3 miles to the end of the road, and park in the lot.
There is a $1 daily parking fee at Marymoor, which you pay on-site.
Check-in will be at the picnic shelter to the North of the parking.

From the Seattle area, take I-90 eastbound.
Take exit #32 (436th Ave SE).
Turn right (South) onto 436th Ave SE at the end of the offramp, and drive for about 3 miles.
The road will turn into Cedar Falls Rd SE, and it will become curvy.
Turn left at the roundabout into the Iron Horse State Park parking lots.
Be sure to pay the $5 parking fee and post the permit on your vehicle.
If you go too far, you will encounter signs and gates that indicate you have reached the City of Seattle Watershed, which is closed to the public. If this happens, turn around and drive back about 3/4 mile.
Note that the parking lots to the West, adjacent to Rattlesnake Lake, are gated and locked at 9:30 p.m., and if your car is left inside, it will be towed. (This is why you should park in the Iron Horse State Park parking lots instead.)

From I-5 in Seattle, take exit 173 (1st Ave NE / Northgate Way).
At the end of the off-ramp, turn left onto 1st Ave NE, then left at the next light and under I-5 onto N Northgate Way.
Go about 1.2 miles (Northgate Way bends and becomes N 105th St).
Turn right onto Greenwood Ave N and go one block.
Turn left onto N 107th St and go five blocks.
The start is at at 4th Ave NW & NW 107th St (next to Viewlands Elementary School, where the road bends right).
You can drop your bike off here, but please don't park in this lot, as your car may get locked in.
Use street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

From Seattle, Bellevue, or Issaquah, follow I-90 East.
Take exit 20 (High Point Way).
At the end of the off-ramp, turn right and immediately right again.
Park along the side of this road.
Look for BEAST signs indicating the check in location.
